This expo is being organized to promote the spread of garden culture and to revitalize the garden industry. Under the theme of 'Garden Journey,' it is being planned as a festival in which citizens actively participate.

The briefing session was attended by a total of 10 people, including Deputy Mayor Hong Jiseon, advisory committee members, citizen gardeners, representatives from service agencies, and related public officials. They reported and engaged in Q&A on topics such as the overall planning of the expo, landscape production at the event site, major program operation plans, and safety management measures.

The service agency explained the expo concept, which encompasses the past, present, and future of garden culture through a three-stage journey: 'Looking Back,' 'Looking At,' and 'Imagining.' They also presented plans for a variety of content, including a garden industry exhibition, flea market, conference, and camping zone.

In particular, five experiential programs-'Dasan's Kitchen Garden Time Travel,' 'Restful Garden Journey,' 'Family Trip to the Garden,' 'Coexisting in the Garden,' and 'A Small Earth Met Through Gardens'-will feature direct participation from graduates of the citizen instructor training course operated by the city since last April, emphasizing the intention of creating a 'citizen-led expo.'

Based on the discussions at the meeting, the city will finalize its plans and hold the expo over two days from September 26 to 27 at Dasan Central Park. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. on the 26th.

Deputy Mayor Hong Jiseon stated, "It is significant that this is a citizen-participatory festival, rather than an event led by the government," and urged, "I hope everyone will make efforts to ensure this becomes a sustainable event."
