The opening ceremony featured a performance of the national anthem, followed by a Best Busker congratulatory concert that showcased a variety of genres including Korean traditional music, dance, jazz, and band performances. A commemorative video marking the 10th anniversary looked back on the journey of the past decade, adding further significance to the festival.
Along the 1.4-kilometer busking road, 30 busker teams participated, transforming the entire street into a cultural and artistic space with diverse performances. By minimizing or not using sound equipment, the festival highlighted the unique charm of busking while also working to reduce noise complaints.
On the day of the event, Mayor Chung Kimyung stated, "This festival is even more special as it is held on Liberation Day. I hope everyone here in Yeosu can fully experience the power of culture that Mr. Kim Gu so deeply dreamed of."
Meanwhile, Yeosu City plans to continue the Yeosu Night Sea Romantic Busking events until the end of October this year, allowing citizens and tourists to enjoy culture and the arts in their daily lives.
