The signing ceremony was attended by major external figures, including the head of the Nakdong River Management Headquarters and the head of the Wildlife Protection Team, as well as the head of the RISE Project at Dongmyung University, the dean of the College of Companion Animals, department heads, and supervising professors.
This agreement was promoted to address the lack of human and material infrastructure available to the eight animal-related departments in the region, despite the rapid growth of the animal-related industry. In particular, by expanding opportunities for students in animal-related departments to gain hands-on experience at the Wildlife Treatment Center-the first such initiative in the country-it aims to strengthen youth employment capabilities and create jobs.
Under this collaboration, the Nakdong River Management Headquarters will be responsible for providing educational support to nurture young talents in animal-related departments, while Dongmyung University will manage students’ field training and the credit system.
On the same day, an agreement was also signed for the Busan-style Open UIC customized curriculum in the companion animal industry sector, signaling the full-scale launch of practical, customized education programs based on industry-academia and regional institution cooperation.
Through this agreement, students will be able to gain hands-on experience at specialized sites such as the Wildlife Treatment Center, and are expected to grow into competitive professionals in the fields of animal health and the companion animal industry.
