A Multi-Attraction Tourism Landmark Featuring Observatory, Skywalk, and Hands-On Experiences
Anticipated as a Stay-Type Destination for Families
Cheongyang County in South Chungcheong Province has launched a full-scale tourism promotion campaign centered around the 'Chilgap Tower,' which is set to open next month.
Chilgap Tower, which combines the beautiful natural scenery of Chilgap Lake with hands-on experience content, is expected to become a new focal point for tourism in Cheongyang.
According to the county on August 19, Chilgap Tower is a six-story facility equipped with a variety of attractions, including an observatory offering panoramic views of the Chilgap Lake area, a media theater, a photo zone featuring the tourism mascot 'Cheongyangi,' and shops selling local specialties and merchandise.
In particular, the skywalk connected to the tower offers a unique experience that feels like walking on water, while the course extending to the floating elevator and pedestrian bridge provides a distinctive charm.
On August 18, a promotional video was filmed with the participation of about 20 local preschoolers and children. The children enjoyed the media theater and the 'Live Sketch' experience, smiling brightly, and this footage will be used in future promotional materials.
The county plans to develop Chilgap Tower into a stay-type tourism belt by linking it with nearby attractions such as Chilgapsan Natural Recreation Forest, Gowoon Botanical Garden, and the Wood Culture and Natural History Experience Center.
Additionally, there are plans to foster Chilgap Tower as a comprehensive tourism course where families can stay and enjoy a variety of experiences, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
County Governor Kim Dongon stated, "We will create a new turning point for Cheongyang tourism by realizing tourism that encourages visitors to stay and enjoy themselves, centered around Chilgap Tower," adding, "We will continue to expand experience programs that can be enjoyed by all generations."
