Paju City Honored with First-Ever Grand Prize
Following Two Consecutive Years of Policy Awards
Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 19th that it has received the "Grand Prize" at the "8th Youth-Friendly Legislation Awards 2025," organized by the Youth and Future Association under the National Assembly Secretariat.
Paju City had previously won the "Policy Award" for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. This year, the city was recognized for its outstanding achievements across all areas, becoming the first in its history to be honored with the "Grand Prize."
The Youth-Friendly Legislation Awards comprehensively evaluate metropolitan and local governments nationwide in the fields of policy, legislation, and communication, recognizing the achievements and contributions of institutions that have helped create youth-friendly environments.
Paju City has supported youth independence and growth through a variety of initiatives, including operating a youth policy council, hosting the Youth Hope Festival, managing youth spaces, supporting youth clubs, establishing a basic youth policy plan, providing opportunities for youth capacity building in Gyeonggi Province, and running programs to support youth challenges.
Kim Jisuk, Director of the Youth and Adolescent Division, stated, "This Grand Prize is the result of listening to the voices of young people and creating policies together," and added, "We will continue to provide strong support so that young people can pursue their dreams and plan their futures in Paju."
The awards ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on the 13th in the main conference hall of the National Assembly Members' Office Building, in conjunction with the "9th Korea Youth Day" celebration.
