The "Senior Center Smart Environment Creation Project" aims to support safe and comfortable leisure activities for seniors by distributing smart devices to enhance daily convenience and prevent safety accidents within senior centers.

During the project application period in March this year, 73 senior centers in the city applied for the "Smart Daily Environment Establishment" category. After a document review, 54 centers were ultimately selected. These selected senior centers will sequentially receive items to improve daily convenience, such as air conditioners and heaters, refrigerators, televisions, and vacuum cleaners.

In addition, through the city's own "Senior Center Environment Improvement Project," a total of 111 senior centers have so far received approximately 240 million won in subsidies to support the repair of aging facilities and the replacement of air conditioning and heating units.

For the next phase of the environment improvement project, the city plans to provide about 100 million won in subsidies to help more senior centers upgrade to a more comfortable environment.

Kim Kyoungil, Mayor of Paju, stated, "Through the Smart Environment Creation Project and the Senior Center Environment Improvement Project, we expect the environment of senior centers to be further improved so that seniors can enjoy their leisure time more safely and comfortably. We will continue to do our best to create a safe and comfortable environment in senior centers."
