Chairman Choi personally inspected the chemical, biological, and radiological protection facilities and the clean mechanical room, and then received a briefing on the overview and current status of the Eulji Exercise from the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Emergency Planning Officer.
Chairman Choi stated, “It is more important than ever to be thoroughly prepared for the changing security environment, including threats such as drones and cyberattacks,” and added, “Please make every effort to ensure that citizens can continue their daily lives under any circumstances by being fully prepared for emergencies.”
The Eulji Exercise is a nationwide emergency drill conducted annually by the government to prepare for national emergencies. This year’s exercise is being held from August 18 to 21, with over 170 organizations and approximately 140,000 participants in Seoul, including the Capital Defense Command, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, and Seoul Metro. The focus is on inspecting procedures for responding to drone and cyberattacks, as well as performing wartime duties.
