Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Lim Chaecheong) announced on August 18 that the Korean Medical Association (President Kim Taekwoo) had donated 83 million KRW to help neighbors affected by the recent heavy rainfall.

Park Myungha, Vice President of the Korean Medical Association, stated, "In disaster situations, the health and safety of our neighbors are under serious threat," and added, "We hope this support will help the physical and mental recovery of those affected. As medical professionals, the Korean Medical Association will fulfill its duty and stand by our neighbors."

In addition to this donation, the Korean Medical Association is also actively providing medical support at disaster sites. Last month, the association dispatched an emergency medical support team to Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province, which was declared a special disaster zone, to provide medical services to residents whose health was at risk.

The Korean Medical Association and Hope Bridge signed a memorandum of understanding in March regarding cooperation for emergency medical support during disasters. Since then, they have continued to collaborate on prompt medical assistance and relief efforts during disasters, volunteer activities for disaster victims, and disaster response education and training. They have also practiced sharing by donating 200 million KRW to support residents affected by wildfires in the North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang, and Ulsan regions, among other efforts to help overcome disaster damages.

Shin Hoon, Secretary General of Hope Bridge, said, "We are deeply grateful to the Korean Medical Association not only for providing medical support but also for their warm generosity toward neighbors affected by disasters." He added, "Hope Bridge will do its utmost to help residents suffering from flood damage recover their health and daily lives as quickly as possible."
