On this day, Shin appeared at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency for a selective forensic examination of his mobile phone. He stated, "There needs to be a thorough investigation into those who received support, incited, or aided and abetted in connection with the Seobu District Court incident," and added, "The remaining mobile phone was at my father's house. There is a lot of favorable evidence and matters that need to be clarified, so I have entrusted it to the police for forensic analysis."

The Security Investigation Division of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which is investigating the forces behind the Seobu District Court disturbance, received Shin's Galaxy mobile phone-used from 2023 until May this year-on a voluntary basis on August 13.

The police plan to examine Shin's text messages and call records exchanged with former Pastor Jeon and associates of former President Yoon during the impeachment proceedings.

Shin is facing charges, along with former Pastor Jeon and others, of inciting the Seobu District Court disturbance (including charges of incitement to trespass on special buildings and incitement to obstruct special public duties).

In January, ahead of the execution of an arrest warrant for former President Yoon, Shin disclosed a text message in which Sung Samyoung, former Secretary to the President for Civil Society, requested support. Based on this, Shin claims that the presidential office and others were behind the Seobu District Court disturbance.
