Laying the Foundation for Stable Settlement and Self-Reliance
for Foreign Families with Region-Specific Visas
Yeongju Family Center (Director: Hwang Mija) announced on the 18th that it conducted the "Work In Yeongju" basic employment training on the 16th to help foreign families settle stably in the community and strengthen their employment capabilities. Twenty foreign family members holding region-specific visas participated in this training.
This program was organized in collaboration with the Yeongju Employment and Labor Office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor. An employment support officer from the Yeongju Employment Welfare Center served as the instructor, providing practical guidance on job search methods and career exploration procedures. Participants enhanced their practical skills by learning how to search for and utilize job postings using the employment center and the "Employment24" platform.
A participant from Vietnam, identified as Mr. A (32), shared, "The process of directly searching for and utilizing real job postings was very helpful in preparing for employment."
Director Hwang Mija stated, "I hope this training serves as an opportunity for foreign families to take root in the local community and strengthen their employment capabilities," adding, "We will continue to expand customized programs to support the self-reliance and stable living of foreign residents."
Yoo Jungkeun, Acting Mayor of Yeongju, emphasized, "This initiative is significant because it goes beyond simply providing employment information and lays the foundation for foreign families to become self-reliant members of the local community. We will work in cooperation with the Yeongju Employment and Labor Office to support the stable settlement of foreign families holding region-specific visas."
Yeongju Family Center offers counseling, education, and cultural programs for multicultural families, single-parent families, and grandparent-grandchild families. Through customized services such as Korean language education, employment linkage, and provision of daily life information, the center supports social integration and stable settlement for foreign residents.
