Daesun Distilling, a local liquor company in Busan, has generously donated 500 million KRW to help scale up regional festivals.

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Heongjoon) announced that it will hold a sponsorship ceremony for the development of Busan's regional festivals at 3:40 p.m. on August 18, 2025, in the protocol room at Busan City Hall, together with Daesun Distilling and the Busan Festival Organizing Committee.

Attendees at the ceremony will include Park Heongjoon, Mayor of Busan; Cho Woohyun, CEO of Daesun Distilling; and Nam Deokhyeon, Executive Chairman of the Festival Organizing Committee.

During the ceremony, Daesun Distilling will present a sponsorship of 500 million KRW. The funds will be used to support the development of festivals organized by the city and managed by the Festival Organizing Committee, such as the Busan International Rock Festival and the Busan Fireworks Festival.

The Festival Organizing Committee plans to support Daesun Distilling's promotions, pursue joint marketing initiatives, and collaborate on other festival-related projects.

The city has actively leveraged its culinary excellence and its unique status as a port and coastal city to host regional festivals this year, including the Busan Wheat Festival, Taekchelin, Busan Port Festival, and Busan Sea Festival.

Mayor Park Heongjoon stated, "Thanks to the strong support from local companies like Daesun Distilling, this year's regional festivals have made significant progress. We will continue to showcase Busan's unique character to the world through upcoming festivals in the second half of the year, such as the Busan International Rock Festival and the Busan Fireworks Festival, as we strive to become a global tourism hub."

Founded in 1997, the Festival Organizing Committee is responsible for Busan's major festivals, including the Busan Wheat Festival, Taekchelin, Busan Sea Festival, Busan International Rock Festival, and Busan Fireworks Festival, contributing to the advancement of Busan's cultural tourism and revitalization of the local economy.
