Pop-Up Store Opens at The Hyundai Seoul
William Grant & Sons Korea announced on August 18 that it will officially launch the limited edition 'Glenfiddich 16 Year Old', released to commemorate its partnership with the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team, in the domestic market.
Glenfiddich, born in Speyside, Scotland, and Aston Martin, which originated in Aston Hill, England, are both British luxury brands with histories spanning over a century. This limited edition product is a symbolic whisky that brings together the craftsmanship, precision, and modern aesthetics of both brands, each rooted in tradition yet constantly pursuing innovation.
The Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Limited Edition is matured in American oak wine casks, new American oak casks, and second-fill American bourbon casks, further enhancing its rich and complex sweetness. It features a smooth and fresh sweetness reminiscent of maple syrup and honey-glazed ginger, harmoniously balanced with the layered flavors of a fruit salad, and finishes with a clean aftertaste marked by a subtle hint of lightly charred oak.
The packaging features the signature emblem of the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team, symbolizing the partnership. New colors such as deep green, neon yellow, and metallic silver have been applied to express both the dynamism of motorsports and the delicacy of whisky.
To commemorate the launch of this limited edition, a variety of promotions will be held. From August 22 to September 1, a pop-up store will open at The Hyundai Seoul, where the Glenfiddich 16 Year Old Limited Edition will be unveiled for the first time in Korea. A limited number of bottles will be sold each day, and customers who purchase will receive gifts such as a Glencairn glass, a Smith & Leather leather initial neck tag, and a Baccarat glass. In addition, visitors will be able to sample a range of whiskies with different aging periods, including Glenfiddich 12 Year Old, 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish, 15 Year Old, and 18 Year Old, all in one place.
Furthermore, throughout September, relay promotions will be held at four major whisky bars in Seoul: Babam, 1808, 78 Degrees Gwanghwamun, and Rubato. Starting September 5, Hyundai Department Store Wineworks locations nationwide will launch exclusive pairing menus designed to complement Glenfiddich 15 Year Old and the 16 Year Old Limited Edition, offering a unique gastronomic experience.
