Na Kyungwon: "President Lee Volunteers as Chief Stalker, Hopelessly Infatuated with Kim Jongun"

Fierce Criticism of President Lee Jaemyung's Remarks on North Korea
"Recognizing North Korea as a Normal State?" Strong Condemnation

On August 17, Na Kyungwon, a member of the People Power Party, strongly criticized President Lee Jaemyung's remarks related to North Korea made on Liberation Day. Na argued that President Lee's comments could undermine the constitutional values of liberal democracy and national security, using harsh language in her criticism.

Through her Facebook account that day, Na stated, "President Lee Jaemyung's remarks on North Korea for Liberation Day are a dangerous illusion and delusion that shake the very foundations of the constitutional spirit of the Republic of Korea and the safety of its people."

She went on to reference the Moon Jaein administration's North Korea policy, criticizing President Lee's remarks as an even more submissive attitude than in the past. Na said, "Former President Moon Jaein acted as Kim Jongun's chief spokesperson and undermined our security with a submissive North Korea policy. Now, is Lee Jaemyung volunteering to be the chief stalker, hopelessly infatuated with Kim Jongun and Kim Yojong?"

In particular, regarding President Lee's mention of respecting the North Korean regime and ending hostile acts, she questioned, "By saying we respect the North Korean regime and will refrain from any hostile acts, are you ultimately seeking to recognize North Korea as a normal state?" She added, "North Korea's nuclear threats, military provocations, cyberattacks, and espionage activities are becoming more advanced and severe by the day. Are you saying we should simply stand by and do nothing?"

Na also argued that President Lee's message went beyond diplomatic rhetoric and violated constitutional values. She stated, "This directly contradicts the constitutional spirit that calls for peaceful unification. It is not merely diplomatic language, but an anti-constitutional statement and a dangerous declaration that could be seen as aiding the enemy."

She further raised issues with President Lee's position on gradually restoring the September 19 inter-Korean military agreement. Na said, "Since the start of his term, the Lee Jaemyung administration has only taken actions that would please Kim Jongun, such as cracking down on anti-North Korea leaflets and suspending loudspeaker broadcasts. Yet North Korea mocked these efforts as 'futile pipe dreams.' Even though North Korea was the one to first break the military agreement, is it right for us to take the humiliating step of reaching out first?"

Na emphasized the historical context in which South Korea has preserved its liberal democratic system through Liberation and the Korean War, stating, "It is deplorable that on Liberation Day, the President of South Korea would issue a message that appears to kneel before the North Korean dictatorship."

In conclusion, she wrote, "While a healthy conservative force dedicated to defending the liberal democratic system is being wiped out through endless politically motivated investigations, the Lee Jaemyung Democratic Party administration is showing only submissive respect to a totalitarian dictatorship. One cannot help but question what kind of country they are trying to create."
