The concert, held on August 15, was organized to reflect on the significance of the August 15 Liberation Day, to honor the historical value of the victory in the Masan Defense Battle during the Korean War, and to deliver a message of peace and unity. More than 500 people, including descendants of independence patriots, families of veterans, and local residents, attended the event and shared a meaningful time together.
The concert was divided into two parts. The first part featured performances by the Jinhae Navy Band and the Navy Vocal Ensemble, while the second part included performances by the Gyeongnam Jazz Orchestra and local singers.
In particular, the finale featured a choral performance of "Ah Republic of Korea" to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation and honor the veterans of the Masan Defense Battle. All attendees joined in singing, sharing gratitude and emotion.
The city expects that this event will not only inspire a sense of historical pride and patriotism among citizens, but also serve as an opportunity to explore new possibilities for the development of local culture and the arts.
Jang Geumyong, Acting Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "The 80th anniversary of Liberation and the victory in the Masan Defense Battle are meaningful days to reflect on our history and reaffirm our commitment to peace and unity.
