This concert, now in its second year following last year's inaugural event, served as a venue for unity where youth and people with disabilities came together through music. The event featured "Dream Orchestra Namyangju," affiliated with the city's youth center, as well as the "Beautiful Mind Orchestra," an integrated private orchestra of people with and without disabilities.
The performance program included Brahms' "Hungarian Dance," the soundtrack from the film "Beauty and the Beast," Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons - Autumn," the soundtrack from the film "Howl's Moving Castle," and "Beautiful Country" composed by Han Tae-su, among others, all of which received an enthusiastic response from the audience. Through multiple joint rehearsals, the two orchestras shared a process of understanding and respecting each other through music, thereby conveying the true meaning of "harmony" and leaving a deep impression.
The concert was narrated by Park Jooyoung, a vocalist and a "human book" with the city, who introduced the background and flow of each piece in an accessible way, helping the audience become more immersed in the performance.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "This concert was a heartfelt stage created by members from diverse backgrounds, going beyond mere artistic skill," adding, "We will continue to expand opportunities for exchange and empathy through the arts."
Meanwhile, "Dream Orchestra Namyangju" provides cultural and artistic education and performance experience to youth, while the nonprofit "Beautiful Mind Orchestra" supports artistic activities for people with disabilities and marginalized groups, and continues to be active both domestically and internationally.
