On the 16th (local time), President Putin arrived in Chukotka for a working visit and met with Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov.

Chukotka is the easternmost region of Russia, located across the Bering Strait from Alaska. President Putin visited this region for the first time during his presidency last year.

Previously, President Putin held talks with President Trump at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Alaska the previous day. The meeting ended without any significant announcement regarding a ceasefire in Ukraine.

The Kremlin announced via Telegram that President Putin's private plane was escorted by US F-22 fighter jets as it traveled from Alaska back to Russia, and released video footage of the event.

When President Putin's private plane entered the US from Russia for the summit, it was also escorted by four US stealth fighter jets.

F-22 fighter jets were lined up on the runway when President Putin arrived at the Alaska base to meet with President Trump.

President Trump greeted President Putin on the runway and gave him special treatment by having him ride in his own private limousine.
