At approximately 9:33 a.m. on August 16, 2025, an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.3 occurred 11 kilometers southwest of Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the epicenter was located at latitude 36.85 degrees north and longitude 126.53 degrees east, with a depth of 12 kilometers.
The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "Tremors from the earthquake may be felt in nearby areas," and advised residents to exercise caution for their safety.
