SR, the operator of Suseo High-Speed Railway, has been running trains adorned with a commemorative emblem for the 80th Anniversary of Liberation since August 11, 2025. The company is utilizing all available promotional channels throughout the customer journey, from boarding to disembarking, to honor this historic milestone together with passengers.
The wrapped trains travel across the country, serving as a reminder of the significance of the 80th Anniversary of Liberation. For one month, the service item packages provided to SRT first-class passengers feature designs incorporating the Taegeukgi and the 80th Anniversary of Liberation emblem. These first-class packages were originally part of a regional tourism promotion design series. Last month, controversy arose when a design resembling the Japanese flag was discovered in the Yeosu edition. In response, SR immediately issued an apology and discarded all packaging, taking swift action. By applying the Taegeukgi design throughout August, the company turned the controversy into an opportunity for positive change.

Video devices installed in all SRT cabins, as well as the video billboard at Exit 3 of Suseo Station, are broadcasting the official government video commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Liberation. This content will be aired throughout August. SR has also produced and released a special video on its YouTube channel, celebrating the meaning of the 80th Anniversary of Liberation. The video honors the dedication of patriotic martyrs and independence activists, and features SRT advancing toward a brighter future for the Republic of Korea.
The SNS channel card news features the message "Steps that do not forget history, together with SRT," written in the handwritten font of comfort woman survivor Gil Wonok. It was posted at 8:15 a.m. on August 14, in observance of the Memorial Day for Japanese Military Comfort Women Victims. This was done to collectively remember both the significance of liberation and the pain of history. An SR representative stated, "It is thanks to the dedication of independence activists and patriotic martyrs that SRT can run today," adding, "In commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Liberation, we hope to create a brighter future together with the people."
