This information session has been organized as part of a global education cooperation agreement between the city and Stanton University. It aims to provide information on Stanton University's admissions process and global education programs to over 300 participants, including youth, parents, and education professionals.
In particular, this session is notable for being a roadmap seminar for U.S. universities led by a local government in Korea. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to offer practical career planning and tailored admissions information to local youth who aspire to study abroad.
Stanton University, located in Anaheim, California, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and operates transfer programs to world-renowned universities such as UCLA, Stanford, and USC. The university is also recognized for its strengths in hands-on programs, including global dual degree systems and overseas internships.
The session will provide in-depth explanations on topics such as: an introduction to the university and its admissions process; the characteristics and preparation strategies for U.S. college admissions; the global applicability and employment advantages of degrees; differences between the Korean and U.S. admissions systems; and the competitiveness of U.S. degrees.
Those wishing to participate in the session can register in advance through the Uijeongbu City website.
Mayor Kim Donggeun stated, "This information session is a pioneering example of expanding global educational infrastructure at the local government level, and will make overseas study a more accessible and realistic option for students." He added, "We will continue to collaborate with Stanton University to develop Uijeongbu City into a global education hub."
