Gyeonggi Province Governor Dongyeon Kim visited the Gyeonggi Province Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on the 14th, following his visit on the 13th, to inspect the damage caused by heavy rain and urged proactive response measures.
On this day, Governor Kim emphasized, "It is important not to let your guard down during a lull in rainfall and to prepare for the next heavy rain," and instructed officials to "urgently inspect the durability and safety of submerged bridges, and reprioritize dredging operations for small streams that have become more hazardous due to the recent torrential rains."
Gyeonggi Province inspected 10 bridges in Gapyeong County and has begun maintenance work on those where some issues were found.
Governor Kim also called for the swift disbursement of emergency relief funds and minimizing inconvenience for residents in areas where there are disaster victims, such as Gimpo, Goyang, Uijeongbu, and Paju.
As of 8:00 a.m. on August 14, Gyeonggi Province is maintaining emergency response level 3 and is actively responding to the heavy rainfall.
Currently, heavy rain warnings have been issued for 11 cities and counties, including Gimpo, Paju, and Bucheon, while heavy rain advisories are in effect for the remaining 20 cities and counties.

Landslide warnings have been issued for eight cities and counties-Paju, Uijeongbu, Gimpo, Yangju, Pocheon, Dongducheon, Yeoncheon, and Gapyeong-while landslide advisories are in effect for two cities, Namyangju and Guri. In addition, flood warnings have been issued for Songcheon Bridge in Dongducheon and Wondang Bridge in Goyang.
As of 8:00 a.m. on August 14, the main damage status is as follows: one man in his 80s died in Singok-ri, Gimpo. The entire Gyeongui Line, from Uijeongbu to Daegok Station, has been suspended due to flooding. Operations on the Gyeongui Line are scheduled to resume with the first train on August 15. In addition, five roads-including Galmeori Underpass in Goyang and Yeokmal Bridge in Gapyeong-are currently closed, bringing the total number of restricted roads and rail lines to six. Furthermore, three riverside roads in Jinmok-ri, Yongin; Gongdo-eup and Seungdu-ri, Anseong; 27 riverside parking lots; and 5,537 locations along rivers in 31 cities and counties are also under restriction.
Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters have completed safety measures for 193 reports related to flooded homes and road drainage during this period of heavy rain. In areas with particularly heavy rainfall, such as Gimpo, Paju, and Goyang, authorities have provided information on risks related to homes, rivers, and landslides, and have recommended evacuation to users. As a result, a total of 206 households and 293 residents in five cities-Gapyeong, Gimpo, Goyang, Uijeongbu, and Paju-have either evacuated in advance or temporarily evacuated.
