Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province announced on August 14 that it had conducted inspections of seven hydrogen charging stations from August 6 to 13, focusing on preparations for natural disasters such as heatwaves, heavy rain, and strong winds, as well as the current status of safety management for charging facilities.

The main inspection items included: the working environment for charging staff in preparation for heatwaves; the management status of drainage facilities in anticipation of heavy rain; measures in place to prevent accidents caused by falling objects during strong winds; anti-corrosion measures such as coating of charging equipment; and checks on safety management devices such as gas leak alarm systems.
According to the results of the inspection, all seven hydrogen charging stations were found to be in good condition regarding safety management of charging facilities and preparations for heatwaves and strong winds. However, some stations required improvements related to waterproofing of facilities, which are currently being addressed.
A city official stated, "Thorough safety management of hydrogen charging stations is essential to ensure the safety of citizens and a stable supply of hydrogen," adding, "We will continue to work on preventing safety accidents at hydrogen charging stations and ensuring stable operations, thereby contributing to the expansion of hydrogen energy and the activation of the hydrogen economy."
Meanwhile, since 2019, the city has supplied more than 1,300 hydrogen vehicles, and in particular, has supplied 217 hydrogen buses to date, leading the introduction of hydrogen commercial vehicles.
