A New Urban Night Tourism Model in Daejeon
Local Desserts, Candle Art, and Unique Nighttime Experiences
Special Programs Including Delight Moon Boat and Dream Hot Air Balloon Night
'2025 Korea Night Night Festa Daejeon,' a new model for urban night tourism, will be held on August 15 at the Hanbit Tower area of Daejeon Expo Science Park.
'Korea Night Night Festa' is a nationwide joint project for cities specializing in night tourism, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. Daejeon aims to maximize synergy by linking the event with the 'Daejeon Midnight Festival,' presenting a new model for urban night tourism.
This event will feature a variety of attractions, including a local dessert sales zone representing the 10 night tourism-specialized cities (Daejeon, Incheon, Busan, Tongyeong, Gangneung, Jeonju, Jinju, Gongju, Seongju, and Yeosu), a candle art exhibition zone decorated with over 10,000 candles, a parasol rest area, an event zone with water gun rentals, and photo zones.
In particular, the dessert sales zone will offer local specialties such as Daejeon's 'Kkumdori Ramen' and 'Kongde Choux,' Gongju's 'Bamyanggaeng,' and Tongyeong's 'Ggulbbang,' allowing visitors to enjoy the unique flavors and characteristics of each region.
Additionally, Daejeon will showcase its unique night experience content, including the 'Delight Moon Boat' watercraft experience on Gapcheon River and the tethered 'Dream Hot Air Balloon Night' program, which offers a view of Daejeon's city lights from above.
Other programs include the 'D-Universe' double-decker night shuttle bus, a Yanolja accommodation discount promotion, and 'Kkumstay,' all designed to extend visitor stays and provide a distinctive nighttime experience unique to Daejeon on the day of the event.
Yoon Sungkuk, CEO of the Daejeon Tourism Organization, stated, "Through this event in connection with the Daejeon Midnight Festival, we plan to effectively showcase Daejeon's unique night tourism content," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that both citizens and tourists can fully enjoy a unique nighttime experience in the heart of the city."
