Moon Jar Admired by BTS RM Exhibited at Geumcheon District Office... "Moon on the Seoul Sky" Displayed in Lobby Moon on the Seoul Sky displayed in the lobby on the 1st floor of Geumcheon District Office. Provided by Geumcheon District Office.

This piece was created with utmost dedication by Master Ceramicist Mukshim Lee Hakcheon, who sought to revive the significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation. It is the only moon jar of this scale in Korea. The surface features a unique hue called "Wolbaek Seolbaeksaek," a white reminiscent of moonlight with a subtle blue tint, a color concept personally designed by the artist.

Geumcheon District received this work as a donation from the artist and installed it in a prominent spot at the entrance of the 1st floor of the district office so that all residents can view it. Anyone can freely visit and appreciate the piece during district office opening hours.

The moon jar is a type of special white porcelain produced in the late 17th to early 18th century during the late Joseon period. It is characterized by its round, full-moon shape, slightly asymmetrical form, and soft, snow-like color. Its unique aesthetic has attracted worldwide attention, and recently, it has gained renewed interest after BTS member RM expressed his appreciation for it.

Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon District, stated, "Just as our people have long made wishes upon the moon, the moon jar holds our hopes and aspirations. In this work commemorating the 80th anniversary of Liberation, we have placed our wishes for the well-being of Geumcheon residents and the Korean people."
