On August 13, the government appointed Kim Inho, Director of the Institute for Environmental Education Innovation, as the new head of the Korea Forest Service.
Born in 1964 in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, Kim graduated from the Department of Landscape Architecture at Seoul National University, where he also earned his master's degree and a doctorate through the university's interdisciplinary program.
Kim, who served as a professor in the Department of Environmental Landscape Architecture at Shingu University, has established his expertise in the forestry sector by serving as a director of the Forest for Life Association and as head of the National Environmental Education Center.
Recently, he has been active as Vice Chairman of the Policy Committee of the Democratic Party of Korea and as Director of the Institute for Environmental Education Innovation.
On the same day, the Presidential Office stated, "Kim has served as a professor of environmental landscape architecture, chairman of the School Forest Committee at Forest for Life, and director of the Shingu University Arboretum," adding, "As a forestry expert well-versed in both theory and practice, he is expected to drive changes in forest administration."
