The North Gyeongsang Provincial Government announced on August 13 that three outstanding local companies-Dami Co., Ltd., Rozin Co., Ltd., and Hwangnam Bread-have been selected as official sponsors for the High-Level Dialogue on the Cultural Industry, which will be held in Gyeongju from August 26 to 28.
The selection of official sponsors was made through a rigorous review by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' APEC Preparation Task Force. This recognition not only serves as an opportunity to showcase the exceptional quality of local companies, but is also expected to elevate the prestige of the APEC high-level event.
The three selected companies will be announced as "Official Sponsors of APEC" on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' APEC website. They will also be granted the right to use the official emblem-modeled after the face-patterned roof tile, a thousand-year-old smile and Treasure No. 2010 (old numbering)-in their marketing activities.
Dami Co., Ltd., located in Mungyeong, is a ceramics company led by Kim Sunshik, a master ceramicist recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of North Gyeongsang Province. The company will sponsor a set of high-quality tableware crafted using traditional wood-fired kiln techniques.
This tableware set is scheduled to be used at the farewell banquet for the High-Level Dialogue on the Cultural Industry and is expected to showcase the beauty and excellence of traditional Korean ceramics to a global audience.
Rozin Co., Ltd., a bottled water company based in Yeongju, will sponsor "Sobaeksansu" bottled water, which has been specially produced for the APEC event and features designs themed around the four seasons of Gyeongju. The distinctive design and QR codes linked to tourist attractions printed on the bottles are expected to help participants remember and enjoy Gyeongju, the host city of APEC.
Hwangnam Bread, located in Gyeongju, was selected as a sponsor in recognition of its brand reputation, use of domestically sourced red beans, and efforts to support local farmers. Hwangnam Bread will be provided as a snack not only to official APEC meeting participants but also through nationwide food trucks operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote APEC.
Meanwhile, the 2025 APEC High-Level Dialogue on the Cultural Industry will be held in Gyeongju for three days from August 26 to 28. This inaugural high-level dialogue, attended by ministers of culture, aims to promote exchange and cooperation in the cultural and creative industries, with plans to make it a regular event.
Kim Sangcheol, head of the APEC Preparation Support Team, stated, "It is very meaningful that our region's outstanding companies will participate as official sponsors in this APEC summit, which is attracting global attention," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that more excellent local products are showcased at the APEC summit through additional selections in the future."
