Heungdeok High School in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, won the Silver Award in the group category at the Korea Youth Theater Festival.
According to Gyeonggi Province on August 13, Yongin Heungdeok High School received the Silver Award in the group category for their play "The Autumn Breeze Begins to Blow Beyond the Fence" at the 29th Korea Youth Theater Festival, which was held from August 1 to 12 at the Miryang Arirang Art Center and various locations throughout Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province.
This year's festival featured four schools representing Gyeonggi Province: Heungdeok High School, Icheon Jeil High School, Munsan Sueok School in Paju, and Kyungmin High School in Uijeongbu. Among them, Heungdeok High School earned high praise from both the audience and judges for their self-planned, directed, and performed play, ultimately winning the honor of the Silver Award in the group category.

In the individual categories, a total of four people received awards: Kyungmin High School's Heo Chaeyeon and Icheon Jeil High School's Lee Sangsoo won the Excellence in Acting Award; Munsan Sueok School's teacher Chae Hongseok received the Excellence in Guidance Award; and Heungdeok High School's instructor Lee Taekki was honored with the Excellence in Theater Education Award.
Seo Donghwan, Director of Youth Affairs at Gyeonggi Province, said, "I am delighted that our youth achieved such great results thanks to their hard work," adding, "We will continue to expand opportunities for youth development through culture and the arts."
