Proving Their Dominance as the Strongest Elementary School Team
The Gwangyang Jungang Elementary School Girls' Soccer Team once again claimed the national title by winning the 24th National Girls' Soccer Championship without conceding a single goal.
The tournament, which was held in Changnyeong, Gyeongnam until August 12, featured 19 elementary school teams from across the country. Gwangyang Jungang Elementary drew their first group stage match against Namgang Elementary from Gyeongnam, but then kept a clean sheet in every subsequent match, not allowing a single goal all the way to the final.

Their opponent in the final was Jeonbuk Football WFC. Gwangyang Jungang Elementary secured a 1-0 victory by holding onto the decisive goal scored in a closely contested match. Their solid defense and ability to seize opportunities stood out. This year, Gwangyang Jungang Elementary has firmly established itself as the strongest elementary school team by finishing as runner-up at the Spring Girls' Soccer Federation Tournament, winning the Queen's Cup National Girls' Soccer Tournament, and now sweeping this championship as well.
Principal Choi Hyun said, "It is impressive that the team reached the finals in all three major tournaments, and even more so that they won two of them. I am proud of the students for never giving up and playing hard until the end."
Gwangyang Jungang Elementary is now preparing for the Autumn Korea Girls' Soccer Federation Tournament, which will be held in Pohang, Gyeongbuk in November.
