HS Hyosung announced on the 13th that CEO Sung Nak-yang of HS Hyosung Advanced Materials attended the '2025 Korea-Vietnam Business Forum' held at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul the previous day, where he shared the company's business direction and cooperation vision in Vietnam, focusing on the strategic value of carbon fiber.

During the forum, CEO Sung emphasized, "Carbon fiber is a national strategic industrial material that can replace all currently used metals and plastics, and can be applied across all industries, including aerospace and automotive sectors." He continued, "Strategic government-led development is necessary within the division of labor between large and small-to-medium-sized enterprises." He added, "HS Hyosung will closely cooperate with local companies and government agencies to contribute to the creation of a value-generating manufacturing ecosystem."
Since first entering Vietnam in 2007, HS Hyosung has invested approximately $4.6 billion (about KRW 6.3691 trillion) and currently employs more than 10,000 local staff. The company has established production bases throughout Vietnam, from Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau in the south to Quang Nam in the central region, manufacturing advanced materials such as high-performance tire cords, technical yarns, and carbon fiber. With annual sales reaching about $3.5 billion, Vietnam holds a pivotal position in HS Hyosung's global supply chain and future growth strategy.
In the corporate meeting held in the afternoon following the forum, CEO Lim Jindal of HS Hyosung Advanced Materials was in attendance. CEO Lim also met with To Lam, Secretary-General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to discuss economic cooperation plans between the two countries and convey suggestions. CEO Lim stated, "From a long-term perspective, we will continue to invest so that we can grow together with Vietnamese society and become a local company contributing to industrial development." He added, "We request substantial advice and support from the Vietnamese government for the promotion of new business initiatives in Vietnam in the future."
