Investment Agreement Signed for 130 Billion KRW Cheongju Plant
Construction Begins in November, Completion Targeted for March 2027
Annual Production Capacity to Expand to 1.45 Billion Units
CNC International, an Original Development Manufacturing (ODM) company specializing in cosmetics, announced on August 13 that it will sign an investment agreement with North Chungcheong Province and Cheongju City for the construction of a new Cheongju plant, with an investment of 130 billion KRW.
Through this agreement, CNC International will establish a comprehensive color cosmetics and skincare production facility on five plots, including Cheongju Central Valley Industrial Complex 3-1, covering approximately 63,990 square meters. The new Cheongju plant is scheduled to break ground in November this year, with completion targeted for March 2027. The company plans to hire approximately 800 new employees by 2027.
The Cheongju plant is expected to increase CNC International's total annual production capacity from the current 450 million units by an additional 1 billion units, reaching over 1.45 billion units. This expansion will enable the company to reliably fulfill rapidly growing global orders and serve as a forward base for full-scale expansion of its skincare portfolio. Currently, CNC International's main production bases are the Purple County headquarters in Dongtan, the Green County plant in Yongin, and its Shanghai subsidiary in China.
Under this agreement, North Chungcheong Province and Cheongju City will cooperate to ensure the smooth progress of the project. CNC International also plans to invigorate the local economy by involving local construction companies and expanding the purchase of locally produced materials. In addition, the company will prioritize hiring local residents in collaboration with the Chungbuk Job Support Center and Cheongju Job Integrated Support Center, and will pursue environmentally friendly plant operations to promote mutual growth with the local community.
With the completion of the new Cheongju plant, CNC International will actively expand its skincare lineup. Bae Euncheol, Chairman of CNC International, stated, "The Cheongju plant will serve as a key forward base, expanding our strengths in color cosmetics to skincare and driving CNC International's growth to the next level. We aim to create a successful model that contributes to job creation and revitalization of the local economy through close cooperation with the community."
Meanwhile, the investment agreement ceremony will be held at the Yeoneunmadang Hall of the North Chungcheong Provincial Government Office on the same day. Key attendees will include Bae Euncheol, Chairman of CNC International, Kim Younghwan, Governor of North Chungcheong Province, Lee Beomseok, Mayor of Cheongju, and other major stakeholders.
