Professor Seo, who was the first to publish a "Dokdo" advertisement in The New York Times, gained international attention and has since led campaigns in major global media outlets on topics such as the East Sea and the issue of Japanese military "comfort women," actively promoting Korea's history and culture.
In particular, he achieved notable results by collaborating with actress Song Hyekyo to provide Korean-language guides at overseas sites related to the independence movement and by introducing Korean-language services at world-renowned cultural venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
District Mayor Kim Ikang stated, "In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, we have prepared a meaningful event to broaden our understanding of Korean culture and history and to foster pride. I hope many citizens will participate and enjoy this opportunity to learn and share together."
Meanwhile, the Seogu Academy continues to provide a broad and high-level learning environment for local residents by inviting leading figures from various fields, such as broadcaster Kim Jedong, author Ko Myunghwan, poet Na Taejoo, and Professor Seo Eunguk.
