Sinkhole in Baegun-dong, Gwangju Causes Morning Commute Delays

At approximately 7:12 a.m. on August 13, a sinkhole occurred on a road in Baegun-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju.

Although the sinkhole was not large, traffic congestion occurred during the morning commute as lanes were restricted for restoration work. No casualties were reported as a result of the sinkhole.

The Gwangju City General Construction Headquarters plans to investigate the cause of the incident and other details as soon as the restoration work is completed.
