President Lee Holds Dinner at Official Residence with Jeong Cheongrae and Park Chandae: "We Are Always Comrades"

First Official Meeting Since the Democratic Party Leadership Primary

On August 12, President Lee Jaemyung held a dinner meeting with Jeong Cheongrae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Park Chandae, a lawmaker from the same party. This was the first official meeting between President Lee and Leader Jeong since the recent Democratic Party primary.

Kang Yujeong, spokesperson for the presidential office, stated in a written briefing that "this evening, President Lee hosted a dinner at the official residence with the newly appointed party leader Jeong, lawmaker Park, and Kang Hunsik, Chief Presidential Secretary. The dinner took place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in a warm and friendly atmosphere."

According to Spokesperson Kang, during the dinner, President Lee congratulated Leader Jeong on his inauguration and offered words of comfort to lawmaker Park, saying, "We are always comrades and one family."
