Two people were seriously injured in consecutive fall accidents at construction sites in the northern Gyeonggi region.

At around 6:09 PM on August 11, a man in his 60s fell from a height of about 5 meters at a construction site in Wadongdong, Paju-si.


The victim was found lying beneath an aerial work platform. He was conscious and breathing, but reported an open fracture of the lower jaw, abrasions on the left side of his chest, and back pain.


Fire authorities immobilized him and provided emergency first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital.


At 10:55 AM on August 12, an accident occurred at a factory in Jeonggyori, Gasan-myeon, Pocheon-si, where a man in his 80s fell from a height of about 2.5 meters.


The victim, who was the factory owner, fell while attaching boards on the second floor. When fire authorities arrived, he had no pulse. The rescue team performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while transporting him to the hospital.


A fire department official emphasized, "Both elderly individuals and those working at heights are at high risk of fall accidents, so wearing safety equipment and conducting safety checks before starting work are essential."
