The Namdo Jangteo Foundation (CEO Kim Kyungho) announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Food Safety Management Certification Institute (President Han Sangbae) on the 11th. Through this agreement, the two organizations will cooperate to improve the quality of agricultural and specialty products sold on Namdo Jangteo and to provide safe food options.
Through this agreement, both organizations aim to strengthen the hygiene and safety management capabilities of farmers, small business owners, and small and medium-sized producers of agricultural, fisheries, and livestock products. They also seek to establish a foundation for a trustworthy food distribution environment.
The Korea Food Safety Management Certification Institute is a specialized HACCP certification agency under the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It operates a system that ensures safe and clean food by blocking hazards throughout all stages, from raw materials to manufacturing, processing, preservation, distribution, cooking, and consumption.
Through this agreement, Namdo Jangteo plans to provide food safety education for partner companies, establish hygiene and quality management systems, and support both HACCP and Smart HACCP initiatives.
As the first collaborative project, Namdo Jangteo conducted food hygiene and safety training for the Chuseok holiday at the Jeonnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services on the 12th. An auditor from the Certification Institute participated as an instructor, helping to enhance the hygiene management capabilities of participating companies.
Kim Kyungho, CEO of Namdo Jangteo, stated, "This agreement has laid the foundation for us to provide Namdo Jangteo's agricultural specialty products to customers more safely. We will strive to become a leading public distribution platform trusted for both quality and safety by strengthening our consulting and education on hygiene and quality management."
Meanwhile, Namdo Jangteo plans to hold a Chuseok holiday special event from August 18 to October 10. The event will offer discounts of up to 50% to help ease the holiday price burden for consumers and is expected to invigorate the regional distribution ecosystem by securing stable sales channels and increasing sales for local farmers and fishers.
