Strengthening the Distribution Competitiveness of Local Forest Products
Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province held a completion ceremony on the 11th for the "Gurim Nonghyup Forest Products Comprehensive Distribution Center," which was established to strengthen the distribution competitiveness of local forest products.
According to the county on the 12th, the Gurim Nonghyup Forest Products Comprehensive Distribution Center was selected as a project by the Korea Forest Service in August 2023, with a total investment of 1.5 billion KRW. The center was constructed with a building area of 1,200 square meters.

The event was attended by over 500 people, including Sunchang County Governor Choi Youngil, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (Nonghyup) Chairman Kang Hodong, Nonghyup headquarters executives and cooperative presidents, as well as local residents.
The county expects that the completion of this center will significantly improve the quality and distribution efficiency of local forest products, serving as an important foundation for increasing farm household income and revitalizing the local economy.
The center is equipped with state-of-the-art distribution and storage facilities, enabling the harvested forest products to be kept fresh and allowing for the efficient handling of large volumes.
In particular, the center is designed not only for simple collection and storage, but also for integrated management of the entire process, including sorting, packaging, and shipping. Local farmers also expressed their anticipation that the completion of the distribution center will greatly support them by securing stable sales channels and improving distribution efficiency.
In his congratulatory remarks, Kang Hodong, Chairman of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, said, "I sincerely congratulate you on the completion of the Gurim Nonghyup Forest Products Distribution Center. I hope this center will become a key hub for realizing 'profitable agriculture,' enhance the brand value of local forest products, and make a tangible contribution to increasing farm household income."
Governor Choi Youngil stated, "This distribution center is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy by increasing the added value of local forest products and enabling a smooth flow from production to consumption. We will continue to do our best to realize 'profitable agriculture' together with farmers and to enhance the competitiveness of Sunchang agriculture."
