Gijang County in Busan Conducts Safety and Health Training for All Employees to Prevent Serious Industrial Accidents Gijang County is conducting safety and health training for all employees.

This training was organized to enhance understanding of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the Industrial Safety and Health Act, and to ensure the smooth implementation of industrial accident prevention procedures during the execution of various projects such as subcontracting, outsourcing, and consignment.

Governor Jung and employees from each department participated in the training, which focused on practical aspects such as: procedures and step-by-step implementation for industrial accident prevention; how to prepare safety and health documents for subcontracted, outsourced, and consigned projects; guidelines for preventing heat-related illnesses during heatwaves; and major cases of serious industrial accidents in the public sector.

To improve safety management at high-risk subcontracting sites, the training placed particular emphasis on safety management techniques that can be applied directly in the field, including: selecting qualified contractors, calculating industrial safety and health management costs, contracting for construction accident prevention technical guidance, preparing work plans, and conducting emergency response drills.

Governor Jung stated, "Creating a safe and healthy workplace starts with each of you," and urged, "I hope you will always make 'safety' your top priority in all work processes."

From the end of July for two weeks, the county conducted intensive inspections at six summer grass-cutting worksites, focusing on the distribution and use of personal protective equipment, availability of first-aid supplies, compliance with brushcutter operation rules, and the maintenance of perceived temperature logs. As a result, 52 issues were immediately corrected, and the county plans to further strengthen management of any remaining shortcomings through on-site consulting and additional inspections.
