Harvested and Homemade Blueberry Compote Donated to Nam-gu Children's Centers in Busan
How about volunteering with sweet blueberries for a "Berry Nice" cause?
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced on August 11 that it held the "Berry Nice Volunteer Day" social contribution program on August 8, with employees and their families participating together.
On that day, 150 jars of homemade blueberry compote, a sweet stewed dessert, were donated to five local children's centers in Nam-gu, near Busan Port.
About 20 people, including BPA employees and their children, participated in this volunteer activity. Participants harvested blueberries at Plan B Farm in Gangseo-gu, Busan, used them to make compote, and then packed the finished products into donation boxes. Child participants also took part in the packaging process and were directly involved in delivering the gifts they made to the local community.
BPA continues to carry out a variety of ESG-based social contribution activities centered on its social contribution brand "PORTner," focusing on the environment, mutual growth, and sharing. This volunteer activity was also promoted to realize various social values, including ▲ promoting the consumption of local agricultural products and increasing farm income, ▲ spreading a culture of family-based volunteering, and ▲ supporting nutritious snacks for local children.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, emphasized, "It was a great opportunity for families to participate in volunteering together and naturally learn and practice the meaning of sharing," adding, "We will continue to operate social contribution programs that enable the local economy and community to grow together."
