Recruitment of Trainees for Educational Program at Sejong City Agricultural Technology Center
The Sejong City Agricultural Technology Center is accepting applications for a two-week course on the diverse uses of Korean rice until August 25.
According to the center on August 11, the program is designed to foster professional agricultural leaders who can spearhead the promotion of domestic rice consumption. The course will be held at the Agricultural Comprehensive Education Center every Friday from September 5 to September 26, for a total of four sessions. Enrollment is limited to the first 25 applicants.
The curriculum includes hands-on classes on a variety of ways to use Korean rice in daily life, such as making Dobeong and peach Bukkumi, peach sticky rice bread and peach rice cake balls, traditional royal Yakshik and five-colored Songpyeon, as well as baked peach sticky rice cakes and walnut Gangjeong.
Any farmer who either resides in Sejong City or owns farmland in the city is eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted through the Agricultural Technology Center website, under the Agricultural Education Application section. Pi Okja, head of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "We expect this program to serve as an opportunity to promote the excellence of local agricultural products," adding, "We hope many citizens will show interest and participate to help boost the consumption of Korean rice."
