Jeonju City Recruiting Food Booth Operators for 'Bibimbap Festival'

Applications accepted until August 29
Open to general and snack restaurant operators

Jeonju City in North Jeolla Province is publicly recruiting food booth operators to participate in the upcoming Jeonju Bibimbap Festival until August 29.


According to the city on August 11, the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival, which is recognized as Korea's leading gourmet festival, will be held for three days from October 24 to 26 at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

This recruitment is for a total of 16 booths. Eligible applicants are businesses currently operating general or snack restaurants located in Jeonju. Each booth must include at least one bibimbap-related menu item and one menu item priced under 5,000 won, with the total menu composition not exceeding 10,000 won.


All menu items must be served in reusable containers. To ensure a safe festival environment, alcoholic beverages requiring age verification will be sold at separate booths, and individual booths will be prohibited from selling alcohol.


Operators wishing to participate should apply by sending an email to the International Cultural Exchange Promotion Institute, the organizing body of the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival, by August 29. For more details, applicants can visit the Jeonju City website or inquire by phone.


No Eunyoung, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of Jeonju City, stated, "This year, in addition to showcasing a variety of Jeonju's foods, we will also present content on themes that the local community can relate to and unite around, such as supporting Jeonju's bid to host the 2036 Olympics." She added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of local businesses in Jeonju to help make this festival a success."


Meanwhile, the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival, which attracts about 100,000 visitors annually, is a comprehensive cultural and arts festival that combines food with arts and cultural events. During the festival, a variety of programs will be offered, including a large-scale bibimbap performance, the Jeonju Bibim Friends photo zone, and the Jeonju Gourmet Street.
