The city explained that, according to Gyeonggi Province's daily situation report as of 6 p.m. on August 10, a total of 271,566 out of 281,674 eligible recipients in the city had received the consumption coupons. The city added that this is the highest rate among the 31 cities and counties in the province.
The city cited the rapid formation of a dedicated task force team and the operation of a call center, enabling swift response to residents' inquiries, as key factors behind the high distribution rate. The city also analyzed that its experience earlier this year in distributing 100,000 won in Gwangmyeong Sarang local currency to all citizens as a livelihood stabilization support fund contributed to the efficient process.
In particular, the city is operating a "visiting application" service for citizens who have difficulty applying online. Through this service, 154 people have received the consumption coupons.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong, stated, "It is most important that as many citizens as possible benefit from the livelihood recovery consumption coupons so that they can truly serve as a catalyst for economic recovery." He added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that no citizen is left out and that every citizen can enjoy these benefits."
