28th Festival Held at Daecheon Beach and Mud Expo Plaza
Global Status Strengthened Through Enhanced Nighttime and Cultural Performances
The 28th Boryeong Mud Festival, held from July 25 to August 10 for 17 days at Daecheon Beach and the Mud Expo Plaza, concluded successfully.
According to Boryeong City on August 11, this year's festival operated 40 programs across 6 categories under the theme "Exciting Mud Experience with the World."
The main attraction, the Mud Experience Zone, was subdivided into sections such as General, Family, Children's Water Park, and Mud Beauty Healing Center, allowing visitors of all ages to enjoy the festival.
Large-scale performances were also held, including the nighttime program "Mud on the Beach," a drone light show, the World DJ Festival, KBS K-POP Super Live, Mnet M Countdown, and TV Chosun Super Concert.
In particular, the festival enhanced its win-win effect with the local economy by offering discount coupons for local restaurants and accommodations, a Youth Hope Booth, and a Local Delivery Zone.
The city prioritized safety by conducting advance inspections, stockpiling 20,000 bottles of water to prepare for heat waves, and increasing the number of safety personnel and emergency medical staff, resulting in the festival concluding without a single safety incident.
Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "This was a meaningful festival that achieved content innovation and operational enhancement," adding, "Next year, we will prepare even more strategically to make a leap forward as a global tourism city."
