'13 Billion Won Consumption Coupons' Revitalize Buyeo County's Local Economy

The "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon" program, implemented by Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province as part of the government's policy to revitalize the people's economy, has been shown to inject vitality into the local economy.

According to the county on August 11, a total budget of 13 billion won was distributed in the form of consumption coupons, with 8.5 billion won, or 65% of the total, provided through the local currency "Goodtrae Pay."

So far, 4.3 billion won has been spent using Goodtrae Pay, meaning that about half of the distributed amount has already circulated into the local commercial sector.

The main places where the coupons were used included traditional markets, restaurants, convenience stores, and hair salons?businesses closely tied to daily life. Some shops reported a significant increase in sales compared to usual.

The county analyzed that this has led to increased sales for small business owners and has promoted the circulation of funds within the local area.

A county official stated, "The consumption coupon program is having a positive effect on restoring consumer spending among residents and revitalizing local businesses. We hope that the unused funds will also be spent within the deadline to further strengthen the local economy."

Meanwhile, the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons can be used until November 30. Any remaining balance after the deadline will be automatically forfeited. The county plans to continue implementing various policies to stabilize residents' livelihoods and further boost the local economy.
