Uisin Middle School first opened in 1968 as Masan Uisin Girls' Middle School and became coeducational this year, 56 years after its founding.

In addition, the school was selected for the Gyeongnam Green Smart Future School Project in 2022 and became the fourth of 19 project sites to be completed.

This project aims to transform school facilities in Gyeongnam that are over 40 years old into future-oriented schools. For Uisin Middle School, a total of 14.7 billion won was invested, and the school underwent remodeling to create a three-story building with a total area of 3,603 square meters.

The new Uisin Middle School was designed around an open central courtyard, replacing the previous closed structure. All classrooms have been equipped with the latest information and communication technology (ICT)-based teaching and learning systems for smart education.

The outdoor grass sports field has been created as a nature-friendly space, allowing students to enjoy physical activities, festivals, camps, and exhibitions while experiencing all four seasons.

More than 200 people attended the opening ceremony for the Gyeongnam Green Smart Future School Project, including Superintendent Park Jonghoon, officials from the provincial office of education and the Changwon Education Support Office, and principals of local elementary and middle schools.

At the event, Superintendent Park declared that Uisin Middle School had been reborn as a Gyeongnam-style future school.

Choi Chiyong, head of the Future School Promotion Team, said, "It is meaningful that Uisin Middle School, reborn as a Green Smart Future School, can now provide students with a creative learning space. I hope this will serve as an opportunity for the local educational community to grow together and take another step toward the future of education."
