Naurobotics Resolves to Appoint GIST Professor Gyubin Lee, K-Humanoid AI Expert, as Outside Director Gyubin Lee GIST Professor. Naurobotics

Naurobotics, a company specializing in robotics, is adding a leading expert in AI and humanoid technology to its board of directors.

According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on August 8, Naurobotics resolved at its board meeting held that day to appoint Gyubin Lee, a professor at the Department of AI Convergence at GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), as an outside director. This agenda item will be submitted for approval at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for September 26.

Professor Gyubin Lee is recognized as one of Korea's leading AI robotics experts in the fields of reinforcement learning-based robot control, simulation-based motion learning, autonomous driving systems, and humanoid robot intelligence technologies.

He earned his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from KAIST, conducting research on reinforcement learning robot intelligence models based on synaptic plasticity. Subsequently, at the KIST Neuroscience Center and Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, he developed cognitive robots, control algorithms, and AI-based robotic software solutions.

Since joining GIST in 2018, he has led research on the intelligence of industrial and humanoid robots, simulation-based motion data learning, and optimization of autonomous robot control. He is currently serving as a core researcher in the AI and control division of the national K-Humanoid Consortium Project.

Naurobotics is currently focusing on the development and sales of Cartesian robots (NURO series), articulated robots (NUROX), SCARA robots (NUCA series), and autonomous logistics robots (NUGO series), and is also developing high-speed collaborative robots (NUCO series).

A Naurobotics official stated, "The appointment of an outside director is a decision aimed at strengthening AI-based robot control strategies and responding to humanoid technology. If a core researcher from a national project joins the board, it will enhance the expertise of technology management decision-making and is expected to have a positive impact on future global market strategies."
