The police have requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s who killed an acquaintance on a major street in downtown Seoul.
The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on August 8 that it had requested an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges including murder.
According to the police, at around 11:00 p.m. on August 6, A is suspected of stabbing and killing his acquaintance, a man in his 30s identified as B, with a weapon on a main road near the Mapo Tax Office in Daehung-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul.
A was arrested at the scene, and B was transported to a nearby hospital but ultimately died.
A was also injured during the crime and underwent surgery; he is currently recovering.
The police plan to continue their investigation into the specific motive for the crime after securing A's custody.
