Korea Airports Corporation announced on August 8 that it co-hosted the 'ICAO Risk Management Workshop' with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) at the Aviation Security Training Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, for five days starting from August 4.
This workshop was organized to strengthen the capabilities of aviation security experts in the Asia-Pacific region to respond to aviation security threats and to share risk management techniques that meet international standards.

The workshop was attended by 19 aviation security experts from relevant agencies and airlines in seven countries, including Korea, Brunei, Macau, India, Laos, the Philippines, and Thailand. The corporation invited ICAO-certified international instructors to provide practical, hands-on training. In particular, group activities among participants and case studies of aviation security threats were used to enhance practical security response capabilities. Both theory and practice were combined in areas such as risk identification and assessment, vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation, and risk communication and monitoring, in order to further improve expertise.
The corporation's Aviation Security Training Center is the only ICAO-certified international aviation security training institution in Northeast Asia. Since 2008, it has operated ICAO aviation security courses at least twice a year and has trained a total of 572 participants to date, playing a significant role in strengthening the capabilities of international aviation security professionals.
Lee Jeonggi, Acting President of Korea Airports Corporation, stated, "The corporation is continuously expanding international training to enhance aviation security capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region," adding, "We will continue to contribute to improving global aviation security standards through cooperation with ICAO in the future."
