Gyeonggi-do Launches Talent Development for the Future Automotive Industry

Gyeonggi-do is taking steps to nurture talent that will lead the future automotive industry.


On August 8, Gyeonggi-do announced that it had begun training for 50 young people who will lead the future automotive industry, holding the entrance ceremony for the 'Gyeonggi-do Future Mobility Software Specialist Training' at the Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute in Gwanggyo, Suwon.


This training program is centered around key future mobility technologies, including software-defined vehicles (SDV), autonomous driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and the international standard automotive software platform (AUTOSAR).


The training will be conducted as a two-week, practice-oriented course at Hyundai NGV, the commissioned operating institution located within Hanyang University in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.

The main curriculum includes: an introduction to autonomous driving technology; understanding the structure of software-defined vehicles and sensor fusion technology; development of software for advanced driver assistance systems; and hands-on practice with the international standard automotive software platform.


Gyeonggi-do plans to produce practical talent to lead the era of autonomous vehicles and strengthen the technological foundation of the future mobility industry through this training. In addition, a performance sharing event will be held in November to provide graduates with opportunities for networking with relevant companies and employment connections.


Jung Hankyu, Director of the Advanced Mobility Industry Division of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "The global automotive industry is rapidly shifting to a software-centric paradigm. This training marks the starting point for nurturing talent with practical skills required in the field, and Gyeonggi-do will provide a strong foundation so that young people can fully demonstrate their abilities."
