Nine Artists Participate... Touring Exhibition in Seoul and Goheung
Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Jung Kimyung) has been holding the special exhibition '2025 Island and Island Exhibition' at the Yeosu Art Museum since August 5 to promote local culture and the arts, as well as to highlight the region's islands. The exhibition will continue until August 23.
This exhibition is organized by the Yeosu Art Museum (Director Seo Bonghee) and features nine artists active nationwide. After personally exploring the islands of Yeosu, each artist presents works that express their perspectives and emotions.
The artists deeply captured the landscapes and sentiments of Yeondo through works sketched on site during their visits.
Following its run at the Yeosu Art Museum, the exhibition will go on tour to Geumboseong Art Center in Seoul and Mirmaru Gallery in Goheung.
The city expects that this exhibition will widely showcase the beautiful scenery and unique charm of Yeosu's islands, and help raise interest in the '2026 Yeosu World Island Expo'.
A city official stated, "We hope this exhibition will provide citizens and tourists with a time of relaxation and healing through art, and serve as an opportunity to rediscover the value of Yeosu's islands," adding, "We will continue to promote the charm of Yeosu through various cultural and artistic programs in the future."
