Woori Bank Launches Special Savings Account for 80th Liberation Anniversary with Up to 8.15% Annual Interest

On August 8, Woori Bank announced the launch of a special financial product, the "Woori 80th Liberation Anniversary Savings Account," in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day on August 15. This product is a collaboration between Woori Financial Group and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.

The "Woori 80th Liberation Anniversary Savings Account" is a 12-month free installment savings product, limited to one account per person, with a maximum monthly deposit of 300,000 won. The base interest rate is 2.0% per annum. An additional preferential rate of 4.15 percentage points is provided to national merit recipients, independence patriots, and their families, while customers who have not held any Woori Bank deposit or savings products in the past six months receive an additional 2.0 percentage points. The maximum possible interest rate is 8.15% per annum.

This product is particularly notable as a social contribution financial product. For every account opened, Woori Bank will donate 815 won per account to "Moduui Bohun Dream," an online national donation platform operated by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.

This initiative is designed as a campaign for everyday participation in honoring national merit, marking the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day. It enables customers to naturally take part in supporting veterans through their daily financial activities. The "Woori 80th Liberation Anniversary Savings Account" can be opened at any Woori Bank branch nationwide with only an ID card, and sales are limited to 100,000 accounts on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lee Young, Deputy Head of Woori Bank's Personal Product Marketing Department, stated, "We have prepared this product to commemorate the historical significance of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day and to honor those who have served the nation together with our customers. We hope that many customers will participate and help spread the culture of honoring national merit."

Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group continues to collaborate with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to realize social value through financial and public sector partnerships. The group also plans to take the lead in spreading the culture of honoring national merit and promoting inclusive finance in the future.
