Sales Reach 3.8 Trillion Won... Up 10% Year-on-Year
Wireless Subscriptions Near 30 Million
LG Uplus achieved strong results in the second quarter of this year, with revenue increasing by 10% and operating profit rising by 20%. The positive performance was partly due to a rise in subscribers following the SK Telecom hacking incident in April.
On August 8, LG Uplus announced that its consolidated revenue for the second quarter of 2025 reached 3.8444 trillion won, and operating profit stood at 304.5 billion won, representing increases of 10% and 19.9%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. With this, LG Uplus continued its turnaround, posting improved results for a second consecutive quarter following the first quarter.
Revenue from the wireless business in the second quarter was 1.6542 trillion won, up 3.8% from the same period last year. The number of LG Uplus wireless subscriptions, including MVNOs, increased by 9.9% year-on-year to approximately 29.917 million, bringing the company close to surpassing a total of 30 million subscriptions. Notably, the number of 5G subscriptions rose by 20.5% to 8.93 million, driving growth in wireless business revenue.
High-speed internet revenue reached 302.2 billion won, a 6.7% increase from the same period last year. The number of subscriptions also rose by 4% year-on-year to 5.479 million. In particular, subscriptions to products with speeds of 500 Mbps or higher accounted for 81.3%, further contributing to improved performance.
